Baker Hughes has received a substantial award from Searah North Ganal Limited to supply subsea production systems and digital technology for the Kutei Northern Hub natural gas development offshore Indonesia.
Searah North Ganal is a subsidiary of Searah Limited, a joint venture between Eni and PETRONAS.
Under the agreement, Baker Hughes will provide 17 deepwater horizontal tree systems along with associated manifolds, connections, control equipment and distribution systems.
The equipment will support the integrated development of the recently discovered Geng North field and the Gehem field.
Baker Hughes will also deploy its Cordant asset protection and condition monitoring technology.
The digital systems are designed to identify risks to critical equipment and help operators reduce unplanned downtime.
The project is expected to support natural gas production intended to strengthen Indonesia’s LNG capacity and domestic energy supply.
Baker Hughes will use its Indonesian manufacturing and service footprint for the project.
Subsea trees will be produced at the company’s Global Manufacturing Center for Subsea Trees in Batam, while its Balikpapan facility will provide operational and service support.
The latest contract expands Baker Hughes’ existing involvement in the Kutei Northern Hub.
In 2025, the company won an order for flash gas compressors for the project’s new floating production, storage and offloading vessel.
That vessel is designed to process more than 1 billion standard cubic feet of gas per day and 90,000 barrels per day of condensate, with storage capacity of 1.4 million barrels.
