Baker McKenzie announced the addition of Christian Zinser as a partner in its Mexico City office, further strengthening its Dispute Resolution Practice in the region.

Zinser brings more than 20 years of experience advising clients on complex arbitration, civil, commercial, and family law matters, often spanning multiple jurisdictions. His background includes work on high-profile disputes as well as advisory roles involving the Mexican Congress, particularly in areas such as freedom of expression and moral damages. He also has experience handling disputes related to emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and blockchain.

In addition to litigation and arbitration, Zinser is an experienced mediator with a strong track record of resolving contentious disputes. His practice includes representing clients in high-stakes cases through final resolution, including the pursuit of damages.

The appointment comes as arbitration and mediation are expected to play a growing role in Mexico’s legal landscape following recent judicial reforms. Baker McKenzie is positioning its disputes team to support multinational clients navigating increasingly complex regulatory and cross-border environments, including investor-state arbitration under frameworks such as the USMCA and bilateral investment treaties.

Zinser previously founded Zinser Legal in 2006 after working as a solo practitioner. His addition enhances Baker McKenzie’s ability to deliver integrated dispute resolution services across its global network, which includes more than 1,000 disputes lawyers in over 70 offices worldwide.

The move reflects the firm’s continued investment in expanding its capabilities in key markets and strengthening its global disputes platform.
