Baker McKenzie has added Justin Tang as a partner in its Dispute Resolution Practice in Hong Kong, strengthening the firm’s cross-border dispute resolution and arbitration capabilities across Greater China and the broader Asia-Pacific region.
Tang joins from Linklaters and brings more than 18 years of experience advising private equity and credit funds, corporations, financial institutions and state-owned enterprises on China-related cross-border commercial disputes.
His practice encompasses international arbitration, commercial litigation and insolvency-related matters across jurisdictions including Hong Kong, Mainland China, Singapore and the British Virgin Islands. He has experience handling shareholder and joint venture disputes, bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings, asset tracing and injunction applications.
Tang also advises clients on regulatory investigations involving authorities such as Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission, Hong Kong Monetary Authority and Independent Commission Against Corruption.
The appointment follows several other additions to Baker McKenzie’s Asia-Pacific disputes capabilities across Australia, Indonesia, Singapore and Hong Kong.
Tang is also a solicitor advocate with full rights of audience in Hong Kong civil courts and regularly appears before tribunals in English- and Mandarin-language arbitrations.
