Baker McKenzie announced that it has promoted 47 lawyers to partner for 2026. The promotions are effective July 1, 2026, except in some locations in the Americas, including North America, where promotions took effect earlier this year.
The firm said the promotions reflect its continued investment in talent and its strategic focus on building the capabilities needed to advise multinational clients on complex cross-border matters.
Along with 44 lateral partner hires during financial year 2026, Baker McKenzie has welcomed 91 new partners globally.
The firm’s Transactional practice saw the largest number of promotions this year. Dispute Resolution had the second-largest number of promoted partners, while Commercial and Tax had the joint third-largest number.
Women represent 43% of this year’s partner promotions.
The newly promoted partners in Antitrust and Competition are Bram Hoorelbeke in Brussels, Nina Lenhard in Vienna, and Byron Tuyay in Los Angeles.
In Banking and Finance, Monica Cubillos was promoted in Bogota. In Capital Markets, Katarzyna Grodziewicz was promoted in Warsaw.
In Data, Technology, Privacy and Cybersecurity, the promoted partners are Jarrod Bayliss-McCulloch in Melbourne, Cristina Messerschmidt in Chicago, and Johanna Moesch in Zurich.
In Dispute Resolution, the promoted partners are Rami Bou Raad in Riyadh, Sjef Janssen in Amsterdam, Laura Kelly in Chicago, Ben Ko in London, Juan Pablo Labbé Arocca in Santiago, Alicja Szczęśniak in Warsaw, and Pasu Na Songkhla in Bangkok.
In Employment and Compensation, the promoted partners are Lois Caeiro in Madrid, Matthew Gorman in Washington, D.C., Humberto Ruiz-Correa in Monterrey, Trishelea Sandosam in Kuala Lumpur, and Michael Starkey in Sydney.
In Energy and Infrastructure, Carlos Maass-Porras was promoted in Juarez. In Intellectual Property, Alysha Preston was promoted in New York.
In International Commercial and Trade, the promoted partners are Sarah Mavula in Toronto and Andrea Tovar in San Francisco.
In Investigations, Compliance and Ethics, Michael Hidalgo was promoted in Los Angeles.
In Mergers and Acquisitions, the promoted partners are Satoshi Abe in Tokyo, Elizabeth Barber in Chicago, Charlotte Chang in Taipei, Bryan Koorstad in Los Angeles, Chiara Marinozzi in Milan, Patrick McGregor in Abu Dhabi, Sarah Rosales in Houston, Ben Saraci in London, Sophie Schubert in Vienna, and Jonathan Yeo in New York.
In Private Equity, Jens Carle was promoted in Singapore.
In Real Estate, the promoted partners are Maria Batlouni in Paris, Shinn-Yih Ho in Taipei, Benjamin Pirlet in Brussels, and Sarah Swain in San Francisco.
In Restructuring and Insolvency, Artur Swierczok was promoted in Frankfurt.
In Tax, the promoted partners are Isabelle Bronzwaer in Amsterdam, Daniel Chou in Taipei, Pamela Floriani in Milan, Dmitrii Gabrielov in Los Angeles, Thomas Kukanza in Brussels, and Lionel Ochs in Paris.
The promotions were made across Baker McKenzie’s member firms.
