Balflex and NRP Jones have combined their U.S. operations, bringing together NRP Jones’ domestic hydraulic manufacturing capabilities with Balflex’s international manufacturing, product and distribution network.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
NRP Jones is headquartered in La Porte, Indiana, and has operated in the North American hydraulics market for more than 80 years.
The company manufactures and distributes hydraulic hoses, fittings and assemblies and has particular experience serving specialty and oilfield applications.
Balflex was founded in Porto, Portugal, in 1963 and manufactures high-pressure hydraulic components.
Its operations include manufacturing in Portugal and Brazil, along with a commercial presence spanning more than 50 countries.
Following the combination, the group will manufacture products across three continents.
Its U.S. distribution footprint includes facilities in Indiana, Utah and Texas, complemented by distribution centers in five other countries.
Both the Balflex and NRP Jones brands will remain in the market, and the companies plan to maintain their existing product lines.
Management expects the combination to give customers a broader product catalog while retaining domestic production and local technical support in the U.S.
The companies also expect their expanded international manufacturing and sourcing capabilities to create a more resilient supply chain and improve product availability.
Products will continue to be manufactured to standards including SAE, EN, ISO and API, preserving existing quality requirements and OEM approvals.
