Banner Capital announced the appointment of McKay Potter as Principal, adding senior investment leadership as the lower middle market private equity firm continues to scale its platform and deploy capital from its second fund.
Based in Lehi, Utah, Banner Capital focuses on founder-led and family-owned businesses across the Western United States. The firm said Potter’s addition strengthens its ability to source, execute, and support investments within its target sectors.
Potter brings more than a decade of investment and advisory experience focused on lower middle market companies. He joins Banner Capital from Tower Arch Capital, where he served as Vice President and participated in evaluating, executing, and managing investments in founder-owned businesses across the business services and industrial sectors.
Prior to Tower Arch Capital, Potter held consulting roles at Bain & Company and L.E.K. Consulting, advising companies and investors on growth strategy, market entry initiatives, and operational improvements.
In his new position, Potter will help oversee deal sourcing, transaction execution, and portfolio value creation. His responsibilities will center on Banner Capital’s core service sectors and investment opportunities across the Western United States.
Banner Capital was founded in 2020 and maintains offices in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Phoenix, Arizona. The firm targets businesses generating between $4 million and $15 million in EBITDA and has completed 16 transactions since its inception. As of December 31, 2025, Banner managed approximately $630 million in assets under management.
Potter earned an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University.
