Barclays has appointed Wee Yee-Yeong as Head of Private Bank Singapore and Head of Private Bank Asia, strengthening its wealth management leadership as the bank expands its presence across the Asia-Pacific region. Based in Singapore, Yee-Yeong will oversee Barclays’ private banking business in the country and lead its regional growth strategy, working closely with distribution teams serving international Asian clients. He joins from Morgan Stanley, where he currently serves as Chief Executive and Head of Sales for its Singapore wealth management business, and is expected to join Barclays later in 2026.
Yee-Yeong brings more than 20 years of wealth management experience, including senior leadership and client coverage positions at Morgan Stanley, Bank of Singapore, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, UBS Wealth Management, and Merrill Lynch.
Throughout his career, he has focused on building wealth management businesses, leading advisory teams, and serving ultra-high-net-worth clients, entrepreneurs, wealth creators, and family offices across Asia-Pacific. His experience includes advising internationally mobile clients with investment, banking, and financing requirements spanning multiple jurisdictions.
At Barclays, Yee-Yeong will lead the bank’s private banking operations in Singapore while developing a market-led strategy for the broader Asian region. He will work alongside the bank’s international distribution teams to strengthen client relationships and expand access to its global wealth management capabilities.
He will succeed Alexander Harrison, who has been serving as Interim Head of Private Bank Singapore. Harrison helped lead the business during its recent expansion, including the establishment of the bank’s new Singapore booking center.
Barclays’ private banking operations in India will remain under the leadership of Adrish Ghosh, who will continue reporting directly to Annabelle Bryde, Head of Private Bank International.
The appointment follows the recent launch of Barclays Private Bank’s Singapore booking center, an important component of its strategy to expand its wealth management business across Asia-Pacific.
The new booking center strengthens Barclays’ ability to serve internationally connected clients who require investment management, financing, and banking services across multiple markets. It also provides a foundation for expanding relationships with entrepreneurs and family offices seeking access to international financial markets.
Through its integrated operating model, Barclays connects its Private Bank, Corporate Bank, and Investment Bank to provide clients with coordinated banking, investment, and financing capabilities.
This approach is particularly relevant to internationally active entrepreneurs and family offices whose financial requirements may encompass personal wealth management, corporate financing, investment banking, and cross-border transactions.
Yee-Yeong’s appointment is intended to strengthen collaboration across these businesses while supporting the bank’s expansion in Singapore and other Asian markets.
Barclays has maintained a presence in Asia-Pacific for more than 50 years, serving corporations and financial institutions across Australia, Hong Kong, India, Japan, mainland China, Singapore, and Taiwan.
Its regional investment banking operations connect Asian clients with capital markets in the United Kingdom, Europe, the Americas, and Asia-Pacific. The bank is expanding its private banking operations in Singapore and India to complement these established institutional relationships.
The combination of Yee-Yeong’s appointment and the Singapore booking center represents another step in Barclays’ strategy to expand its regional wealth management business and strengthen its relationships with internationally connected clients.
