Barracuda Acquires Evo Security To Build Unified Identity Resilience Platform For MSPs

Barracuda Networks has acquired Evo Security, an identity and access management provider built specifically for managed service providers (MSPs), in a deal aimed at turning Barracuda’s BarracudaONE platform into a comprehensive, partner‑first identity security stack. The combination brings together Evo’s IAM and privileged access management (PAM) capabilities with Barracuda’s existing identity‑driven controls to deliver end‑to‑end identity resilience through a single, multi‑tenant platform.

Evo Security’s technology consolidates multi‑factor authentication, single sign‑on, help desk verification, RADIUS, and privileged access management for both technicians and end users into a unified agent and dashboard tailored to MSP operations. Integrated into BarracudaONE, these tools help partners enforce who can access what, when, and how across users, devices, and endpoints, eliminating standing privileges and tightening day‑to‑day identity governance.

Barracuda is positioning the combined offering as a four‑layer identity security architecture: controlling identity and privilege usage at the front door; replacing broad network access with identity‑driven, least‑privilege controls via Barracuda SecureEdge ZTNA; protecting identity infrastructure such as Microsoft Entra ID with dedicated backup and recovery; and detecting and disrupting identity‑based attacks in motion through Barracuda Managed XDR, which correlates signals across email, endpoints, network, and cloud. The goal is to give MSPs one integrated environment instead of stitching together multiple point solutions.

The acquisition reflects Barracuda’s view that the rise of agentic AI and faster, identity‑centric attacks demands protection for both human and non‑human identities at scale, especially in MSP settings where providers manage millions of identities across thousands of customer environments. Evo’s team is joining Barracuda, its technology will be embedded into BarracudaONE, and existing Evo MSP customers will continue to be supported as the combined platform rolls out.

KEY QUOTES:

“In the agentic AI era, protecting both human and non-human identities is imperative for delivering cyber resilience. Existing enterprise identity solutions are complex, costly and fail to meet the needs of MSPs that must scale to securely manage millions of identities across thousands of customer environments. We are thrilled to combine Evo Security’s partner-first innovation with our vision of BarracudaONE and offer a complete, intelligent, easy, and open platform that closes this gap.”

Rohit Ghai, Chief Executive Officer, Barracuda Networks

“We built Evo Security to solve the identity challenges MSPs face every day. Joining Barracuda gives us the scale, reach and resources to accelerate that mission globally. Our identity‑first approach was designed from day one for MSP operations, and now, together with BarracudaONE, we can bring modern identity security, privileged access management and automation to far more partners and the customers they protect.”
