Basata announced that it has raised $21 million in Series A funding led by Basis Set Ventures, with participation from Cowboy Ventures, PHX Ventures, Zenda Capital, and Victoria Treyger. The financing brings the company’s total funding to $24.5 million.
Basata develops AI agents designed to automate administrative workflows across healthcare practices and specialty care organizations, including referrals, patient intake, scheduling, follow-up, and call center operations.
The company said its platform processes workflows traditionally handled through fax machines, manual phone calls, and fragmented operational systems.
According to Basata, its AI agents can extract patient information from incoming referrals, create electronic health record entries, contact patients through AI voice systems, and schedule appointments within minutes.
Basata said it has served more than 500,000 patients to date, including 100,000 patients during the past month alone.
The company currently works with specialty care organizations across cardiology, urology, gastroenterology, and ophthalmology.
Basata stated that healthcare providers using its platform process all incoming referrals on the same day, increase administrative labor capacity by approximately 50%, and reduce time-to-first-patient-contact from weeks to minutes.
The company also said approximately 70% of new sales originate through customer referrals.
Basata plans to use the funding to expand its AI-driven operational infrastructure platform across the broader healthcare administrative ecosystem.
The company said its long-term strategy focuses on building fully autonomous operational systems for healthcare organizations spanning intake, scheduling, coordination, and billing functions.
