BCE announced it has completed its acquisition of Ziply Fiber, a leading fiber Internet provider in the U.S. Pacific Northwest. The transaction is valued at C$5.0 billion ($3.65 billion) in cash, with BCE also assuming approximately C$2.6 billion in Ziply Fiber’s outstanding net debt.
This acquisition is a key component of BCE’s broader strategy to accelerate its fiber growth. Earlier this year, BCE and PSP Investments formed a strategic partnership to create Network FiberCo. With the addition of Ziply Fiber, this partnership will enable Bell to potentially reach up to 8 million fiber locations in the U.S., solidifying its position as the third-largest fiber Internet provider in North America.
The acquisition was financed by the proceeds from the sale of BCE’s minority stake in MLSE, which was completed on July 1, 2025. This strategic move enabled BCE to convert a passive investment into a core driver of business growth.
Ziply Fiber will continue to operate as a separate business unit, maintaining its headquarters in Kirkland, Washington, and its existing management team and workforce. This structure aligns with Bell’s priority of building top-tier fiber Internet networks. The collaboration between Bell and Ziply Fiber is expected to offer enhanced value to customers in both Canada and the U.S. as demand for faster and more reliable Internet continues to grow.
