British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) has appointed Jon Salon as Executive Vice President and Global Head of Private Equity, effective February 2, 2026. Salon will lead BCI Private Equity’s C$36 billion-plus program and succeeds Jim Pittman, who has led the platform since 2016 and is departing BCI at the end of January.
Salon joined BCI in 2024 as Senior Managing Director and Global Head of Healthcare. His remit expanded to include leadership of BCI’s venture and growth strategies, and he was also named head of BCI’s New York office. In his new role, Salon joins BCI’s executive leadership team, with responsibility for advancing a high-conviction, globally diversified private equity strategy to deliver long-term value for BCI’s pension fund and institutional clients.
Based in New York and reporting to BCI Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer Gordon J. Fyfe, Salon will oversee fund, direct, and co-investment strategies. He will lead a team of more than 75 professionals across Victoria, New York, and London, with a focus on active ownership, operational value creation, and strategic partnerships with leading sponsors and management teams.
BCI highlighted Pittman’s impact on the private equity business over the past decade. Since joining BCI in 2016, Pittman grew the private equity portfolio from C$7 billion to a C$36 billion-plus platform and expanded BCI’s global footprint with offices in New York and London.
