Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP (BCLP) has hired partner Katie Hausfeld in its Litigation & Investigations Practice, adding to the firm’s Chicago office as it continues to build out its capabilities in corporate investigations, compliance, and white-collar defense.

Hausfeld advises companies on high-stakes regulatory and enforcement matters, including internal and cross-border investigations, compliance counseling, and complex civil disputes. Her work has included representing U.S. and multinational clients responding to inquiries and enforcement activity involving the U.S. Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the World Bank, among other agencies.

Over the course of her practice, Hausfeld has led investigations globally across a range of allegations, including accounting manipulation, fraud, corruption and bribery, money laundering, environmental compliance issues, insider trading, bid rigging, conflicts of interest, business email compromise, executive misconduct, and workplace discrimination. She also advises on asset tracing and recovery matters connected to investigative and dispute contexts.

In addition to handling investigations and related defense work, Hausfeld supports organizations seeking to strengthen their compliance posture as regulatory expectations evolve. Her experience includes designing risk-based programs addressing anti-corruption and anti-money laundering requirements, conducting transaction-related diligence, and building enterprise policies and training intended to operationalize compliance across business units.

BCLP said the hire aligns with its strategy to deepen its white-collar and investigations offerings for clients navigating complex regulatory risk. Hausfeld joins from DLA Piper, where she served as a partner and co-chair of global compliance.

BCLP, which has approximately 1,200 lawyers across 32 offices in North America, Europe, and the Middle East, said it continues to invest in connected, cross-office capabilities spanning litigation and corporate risk, alongside practices including M&A, real estate, and financial services.
