BCN is a leading provider of managed network and technology solutions.. Pulse 2.0 interviewed BCN Chairman and CEO Richard M. Boudria to gain a deeper understanding of the firm.
Richard Boudria’s Background

Could you tell me more about your background? Boudria said:
“I’ve been immersed in this industry for most of my life. Early on, I was drawn to the dynamic nature of technology; its pace of change, its challenges, and its incredible potential to transform how businesses operate. I’ve now spent over 20 years in executive leadership, with a focus on business strategy, innovation, and financial stewardship.”
“I earned my undergraduate degree from Trinity College and later pursued graduate studies in political science at Columbia University. Today, as Chairman and CEO, I continue to focus on scaling the business, empowering teams, and delivering long-term value to our partners and customers.”
Formation Of The Company
How did the idea for the company come together? Boudria shared:
“BCN was founded over 30 years ago by my father, Dick Boudria, a former U.S. Marine Corps Captain who’s disciplined, mission-driven approach shaped the company from day one. He built BCN on the principles of accountability, service, and integrity, all values deeply rooted in his military background. Originally, the company was created to offer competitively priced telecom solutions that technology agents could confidently deliver to their customers.”
“What began as a traditional voice and data provider quickly gained a reputation for responsiveness, reliability, and partnership. That foundation laid the groundwork for what BCN has become today: a national and international managed network and technology solutions provider that simplifies complexity for businesses across industries. The entrepreneurial spirit my father instilled remains central to who we are, and I’m proud to carry that legacy forward as we continue to evolve and grow.”
Favorite Memory
What has been your favorite memory working for the company so far? Boudria reflected:
“One of the most defining moments for me was leading our transformation from a legacy telecom provider to a modern managed network and technology solutions company. Seeing BCN become a trusted partner to large, publicly traded enterprises across industries like retail, finance, manufacturing, hospitality, and healthcare has been incredibly rewarding.”
“We went from selling voice lines to delivering scalable, secure, cloud-based managed network and technology solutions that support digital transformation across thousands of customer locations. That evolution and the trust we’ve earned along the way stands out as a career-defining memory.”
Challenges Faced
Have you faced any challenges in your work sector recently? Boudria acknowledged:
“The technology landscape changes constantly. One of the biggest challenges has been the shift from legacy infrastructure to cloud-first, software-defined environments. For BCN, this wasn’t just about updating our offerings, it required a full cultural and operational pivot. We embraced it by investing in innovation, forming strategic partnerships, and building a high-performance team that’s adaptable, agile, and relentlessly focused on customer outcomes. The key to overcoming these kinds of challenges is staying ahead of the curve and being willing to make bold decisions before the market demands them.”
Evolution Of The Company’s Technology
How has the company evolved since its launch? Boudria noted:
“BCN has transformed itself from a national telecom reseller into a full-scale managed network and technology solutions provider with growing international presence. We’ve expanded far beyond traditional voice and data services to offer a comprehensive portfolio that includes SD-WAN, internet access in all forms, cloud communications, voice, security, and AI-enabled networking.”
“Just as importantly, our service model has evolved to emphasize consultative partnership and solution design, making it easier for our customers to navigate complexity and achieve their goals. While our offerings and reach have grown significantly, our core commitment to simplicity, service, and partnership remains unchanged.”
Significant Milestones
What have been some of the company’s most significant milestones? Boudria cited:
“Several milestones have shaped BCN’s trajectory, but one of the most significant has been our cultural focus on a customer-first mindset. Today, that focus is deeply embedded in how we operate, reflected in an overall Net Promoter Score of 65 which is more than twice the industry average. We’ve also deepened our engagement with key technology and network partners by serving on numerous Customer Advisory Boards, contributing insights that influence innovation and industry direction.”
“Operationally, we’ve experienced more than 70% organic revenue growth through fiscal year 2024 and expanded our solutions to serve over 8,000 customer locations across a broad range of industries. These milestones speak not only to our market growth but to the strength of our relationships, the trust we’ve built, and our ability to consistently deliver value at scale.”
Customer Success Stories
Can you share any specific customer success stories? Boudria highlighted:
“We’ve helped countless multi-location enterprises modernize and streamline their infrastructure, but one story that stands out is our work with a major North American retailer operating more than 1,100 locations. They needed to replace a legacy voice and data environment that was costly, fragmented, and difficult to manage. Working closely with their IT team and our trusted technology advisors, we designed a fully managed solution that included broadband aggregation, 4G LTE failover, enterprise-grade voice, and consolidated billing.”
“The result was a modernized, scalable communications infrastructure across their entire footprint—with significantly improved network uptime, reduced operating costs, and a single point of contact for ongoing support. It’s a textbook example of how BCN delivers simplicity, reliability, and measurable value for large, complex organizations. Whether it’s retail, healthcare, finance, or manufacturing, our goal is always the same: to help customers transform their operations with confidence.”
Total Addressable Market
What total addressable market (TAM) size is the company pursuing? Boudria assessed:
“We serve the mid-market to enterprise segment across North America and beyond, targeting multi-location businesses that require scalable, secure, and flexible solutions. Our TAM includes billions of dollars in network, voice, cloud, and security spending across industries like healthcare, retail, financial services, and manufacturing. With the rapid adoption of cloud services, AI integration, and hybrid work environments, the market continues to expand—and BCN is well-positioned to capture that growth.”
Differentiation From The Competition
What differentiates the company from its competition? Boudria affirmed:
“BCN stands apart because of our ability to simplify complexity. We aren’t just a provider, we’re a partner. Our customers appreciate having one partner, one invoice, one support team, and a custom-built solution designed for their needs. We back that with deep technical expertise, a responsive and collaborative culture, and a partner-driven model that ensures every stakeholder is aligned. We also invest in the experience we deliver, not just the technology, because that’s what builds long-term trust.”
Future Company Goals
What are some of the company’s future goals? Boudria concluded:
“We’re focused on three core areas: innovation, expansion, and impact. We’re continuing to integrate the latest network and technology solutions, including AI-driven technologies, into our portfolio to increase efficiency and enhance performance for our customers. On the growth front, we’re expanding our reach globally and strengthening our network of trusted partners to serve more customers across more industries.”
“And from an impact perspective, we’re committed to deepening our community outreach and giving back in meaningful ways. Whether through employee engagement, local partnerships, or support for underserved populations, we believe in using our platform to make a difference beyond business. Ultimately, our goal is to drive sustainable growth while delivering value for our customers, our partners, and the communities we serve.”
Additional Thoughts
Any other topics you would like to discuss? Boudria concluded:
“I’d just add this: success isn’t only about revenue or market share. It’s about the relationships you build both internally and externally, and the impact you have over time. At BCN, we measure success by the trust we earn, the outcomes we deliver, and the culture we’ve built. I’m proud of where we are after more than 30 years, and even more excited about where we’re going.”
