Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. (Nasdaq: BBBY) announced it has named Anu Gupta as Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer, effective October 5, 2020. Gupta will oversee the Bed Bath & Beyond’s comprehensive strategy and transformation program, including continuing to develop and implement strategic growth initiatives across the company.

Gupta will help modernize the company’s operating model, enhance the digital-first, omni-always shopping experience for customers, and increase profitability across the business. And Gupta will also utilize and expand the use of data and analytics to deliver a customer-inspired approach to drive growth and performance. Going forward, she will report to John Hartmann, Chief Operating Officer (COO) and President, buybuy BABY.

Gupta will join Bed Bath & Beyond from JYVE Corporation, a leading retail technology platform and talent marketplace where she was Chief Operating Officer and led the implementation of its Future of Work platform. Before that, Gupta was Senior Vice President, Strategy Execution and Operational Excellence at Target Corporation where she was responsible for a multi-year initiative to restructure Target’s product portfolio, digital, and operational capabilities, and go-to-market processes. She also held leadership positions at private equity firm Hellman & Friedman, The Michaels Companies, Inc. and Safeway Inc. Gupta also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of H&R Block, Inc.
