Bedrock Data: $25 Million Series A Secured To Accelerate AI-Native Data Security Expansion

Bedrock Data has raised $25 million in Series A financing to accelerate the development and market expansion of its AI-native data security, governance, and management platform. Greylock Partners led the round with participation from Mangusta Capital, Mantis Venture Capital, Pier 88 Investment Partners, and additional investors. As part of the investment, Greylock partner Jason Risch has joined Bedrock Data’s board.

The Menlo Park-based company will use the new capital to advance its core technology, including integrations, data classification capabilities, and AI governance functionality. Bedrock Data also plans to scale its go-to-market operations to meet growing demand from enterprises seeking to secure and govern data across cloud, hybrid, and AI-driven systems at a multi-petabyte scale.

Enterprises adopting AI are facing rising challenges in managing data sprawl and enforcing secure access. Bedrock Data’s own 2025 Enterprise Data Security Confidence Index highlights the scale of the issue, with 82 percent of cybersecurity professionals reporting significant gaps in locating and classifying organizational data. Traditional security tools built around infrastructure or identity controls often fail to adequately protect data once it moves across multiple platforms, clouds, and AI models.

Bedrock Data’s platform is powered by its Metadata Lake, a continuously updated graph knowledge base that discovers, contextualizes, and classifies data across on-premises, cloud, SaaS, and AI environments. The system reveals exposures, closes least-privilege gaps, and enhances visibility for security teams seeking to reduce risk and strengthen data governance programs.

The company is also extending its reach into AI governance through Bedrock Data ArgusAI, which was announced separately. The tool provides enterprises with visibility into the data their AI models and agents access during both training and inference. It also helps evaluate the sufficiency of existing controls to prevent sensitive data leakage while enabling teams to implement policies across systems using natural language.

Bedrock Data has experienced rapid adoption across financial services, healthcare, technology, and other data-intensive sectors. The company partners with central cloud and security providers such as Sysdig, Wiz, and Panther, which integrate Bedrock Data’s contextual intelligence into their platforms.

KEY QUOTES:

“Enterprise security is entering a new era where data must be at the center of cyber strategy. Foundation models and agentic AI have made data access, governance and protection exponentially more complex, and legacy tools weren’t built for this shift. Bedrock’s approach is designed for scale and visibility across the full data surface, a prerequisite as enterprises replatform with AI at the core of their architecture. Bruno and the team bring the technical depth and clarity of vision needed to lead this transformation.”

Jason Risch, Partner, Greylock Partners

“Our mission is to build an enterprise-wide metadata lake that serves as the source of truth for data sensitivity, access, lineage and more. It’s not just about that basic visibility, it’s about operationalizing a data security program which improves data security posture (DSPM), reduces risk, improves access governance, enables responsible AI and delivers contextual intelligence that makes existing investments like SIEM, CNAPP, DLP and others more effective.”
