Beedie Capital has acquired a 50% ownership interest in Vistara Growth and agreed to become the anchor investor in Vistara’s upcoming US$500 million Structured Opportunities Fund.
The new fund is expected to launch in fall 2026, with Beedie committing up to US$125 million toward the US$500 million target.
The transaction significantly deepens a relationship between the two investment organizations that dates back more than a decade.
Vistara founder Randy Garg and Beedie President Ryan Beedie originally met as MBA classmates at the University of British Columbia and later helped establish Beedie Capital in 2010.
Garg spun Vistara Growth out of Beedie Capital in 2015, with Beedie becoming one of its earliest limited partners.
Vistara has since raised more than US$700 million across five funds and focuses on flexible growth debt and equity investments in mid- and later-stage North American technology companies.
The firm positions its capital between conventional bank lending and traditional venture or growth equity, providing flexible financing for technology companies that may not fit neatly into either category.
Beedie Capital has participated as an anchor LP across Vistara’s funds and will now become both a major owner of the management platform and an anchor investor in the new evergreen fund.
Despite the deeper partnership, Beedie Capital and Vistara will continue operating as distinct organizations.
