beHuman: $4 Million Seed Funding Raised To Scale AI-Driven Early Cancer Detection

beHuman, a physician-led preventive care platform focused on improving early cancer detection for underserved populations, has raised a $4 million seed round to expand nationally and grow its network of health insurance partners and end customers. The round was led by Santé Ventures with participation from DHVP.io.

The company said the new capital will support expansion beyond its current footprint in the northern and southeastern U.S. as it works to reach insured patients who miss recommended screenings due to geographic barriers, limited access to care, administrative complexity, or mistrust of the healthcare system.

Early cancer detection has become an increasingly active area of innovation, but beHuman is positioning itself around populations that are often under-screened despite being insured. The company’s model combines virtual clinical care, advanced diagnostic testing, and longitudinal health data access to proactively identify cancer risk and guide patients through recommended screening pathways.

A central part of the platform is an agentic AI layer that automates administrative workflows, including eligibility verification, scheduling, chart review, and follow-up. beHuman said this approach reduces clinician burden while maintaining physician-led care and clinical oversight.

The company also emphasized data governance and transparency as core design principles, pointing to concerns about privacy and misuse that it said are particularly prevalent in underserved communities. beHuman said patient information is used solely to support care.

beHuman reported that early results show cancer detection rates exceeding national averages, attributing performance to engaging patients earlier in the disease timeline and uncovering risk that might otherwise go undetected until later stages. The service is covered by most major insurance plans, which the company said reduces barriers to participation in preventive care.

With the new funding, beHuman plans to expand into additional states, deepen partnerships with diagnostic laboratories, advance its agentic AI platform to further streamline preventive care workflows, and scale its physician-led virtual care teams to serve more patients efficiently.

KEY QUOTES

“Early detection dramatically improves outcomes, yet millions of insured Americans are still diagnosed too late simply because the system never reaches them. beHuman was built to meet patients where they are, especially those in rural and underserved communities, by removing friction, restoring trust, and making prevention simple, accessible, and life-saving.”

Steve Yaskin, Founder and CEO, beHuman

“beHuman is addressing one of healthcare’s most persistent gaps, late cancer detection among populations the system consistently misses. The team’s combination of physician leadership, thoughtful AI automation, and focus on trust and access positions them to deliver meaningful impact nationwide.”
