Bel Group Acquires Brainiac Brands To Expand Better-For-You Snacking Portfolio

Bel Group announced the acquisition of Ingenuity Foods’ Brainiac and Little Brainiac brands, expanding its portfolio of better-for-you snacks for children and families.

The acquisition strengthens Bel’s position in the functional fruit and snack category and adds Brainiac’s portfolio of Omega-3-enriched snacks designed to support brain health and development.

Bel said the transaction complements its existing GoGo squeeZ platform and broadens its offering of fruit, veggie, dairy, smoothie, juice, and toddler snack products targeted toward younger consumers.

According to the company, Brainiac brands experienced triple-digit value net sales growth over the past year. The products are marketed as brain-building snacks backed by nutritionists and doctors to support brain, gut, and immune health.

Ingenuity Foods will continue operating under its existing leadership team following the acquisition.

Bel said the acquisition aligns with its ongoing investment strategy in the United States, including the recent expansion of its South Dakota production facility. The company also highlighted growing consumer demand for snacks made with real ingredients and increased interest in functional nutrition products.

Bel Group owns snack brands including Babybel, GoGo squeeZ, Boursin, and The Laughing Cow. The company said the transaction supports its broader mission around portion-sized fruit, vegetable, and dairy snacks.

Both Bel and Ingenuity Foods operate as Certified B Corporations focused on social and environmental sustainability initiatives.
