Belmont Medical Technologies announced that it has acquired Arcos, a Missouri City, Texas-based health IT company focused on software solutions for trauma, burn care, and transfusion workflows.

Arcos was founded in 2009 by Dr. George Kramer and Chris Meador. The company developed proprietary software products including Burn Navigator and BloodNav.

BloodNav is a Massive Transfusion Protocol performance improvement tool designed to help providers track blood products across care settings while giving blood banks real-time visibility through a centralized dashboard. The software calculates transfusion ratios, provides customizable MTP prompts, supports balanced resuscitation goals, streamlines documentation workflows, and integrates with electronic medical records.

Belmont said BloodNav works alongside the Belmont Rapid Infuser to improve user experience, reporting capabilities, and EMR integration. The combination is intended to help healthcare teams manage massive transfusion events more efficiently while supporting documentation and blood-product tracking.

Burn Navigator is a resuscitation support software platform designed to assist healthcare professionals caring for adult and pediatric patients with severe burns. Since launching in 2013, Burn Navigator has supported thousands of burn resuscitations at leading burn centers in the United States and internationally.

The acquisition expands Belmont’s portfolio of life-saving medical technologies across fluid resuscitation, patient temperature management, trauma care, and burn care. Belmont’s products are used in medical facilities, military combat environments, and EMS settings worldwide.

Belmont’s flagship product is the Belmont Rapid Infuser RI-2, which uses electromagnetic induction heating to provide precise control of fluid temperature and flow rate during fluid resuscitation. The company also offers the portable buddy lite blood and fluid warming system, along with temperature-management systems, including Allon and CritiCool.

The acquisition of Arcos represents Belmont’s third add-on acquisition since Audax Private Equity invested in the company in 2017.

KEY QUOTES:

“This acquisition marks an important milestone in Belmont’s growth strategy, accelerating innovation and the company’s next phase of growth. I am pleased to welcome the Arcos organization to the Belmont family of dedicated team members and life-saving medical solutions.”
