Bending Spoons has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Airtable in an all-cash transaction valuing the enterprise software company at $1.285 billion. Including Airtable’s current net cash and cash equivalents, the transaction implies an equity value of approximately $2.25 billion.
Under the agreement, Bending Spoons will acquire all issued and outstanding shares of Airtable. The boards of both companies unanimously approved the transaction.
The acquisition is expected to close later in 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions. Bending Spoons and Airtable will continue operating independently until the transaction is completed.
Founded in 2013, Airtable provides a connected platform that combines spreadsheet-style usability with database functionality, allowing companies to build customized applications and manage workflows without relying entirely on software engineering teams.
Airtable’s annual recurring revenue increased by more than 20% year over year to approximately $480 million as of June 2026.
More than 500,000 organizations use the platform, including 80% of the Fortune 100. Customers use Airtable to manage product operations, marketing activities and other business-critical processes while automating workflows and incorporating AI into their operations.
Bending Spoons said it plans to invest in Airtable over the long term and expand the platform’s capabilities across a broader range of enterprise workflows.
The company intends to build on Airtable’s position as a flexible workspace connecting teams, data and operational processes. The combination is also expected to support Airtable’s development into an AI-native enterprise platform.
The deal will be Bending Spoons’ first acquisition since the company began trading on Nasdaq on July 1, 2026.
Bending Spoons previously acquired AOL in January 2026 and Eventbrite in March 2026. Its broader portfolio includes Brightcove, Evernote, Harvest, komoot, Remini, StreamYard, Vimeo and WeTransfer.
As of March 2026, Bending Spoons’ businesses served more than 500 million monthly active users and over 9 million monthly paying customers.
Bending Spoons’ acquisition strategy centers on purchasing established digital businesses, implementing operational and technological changes and reinvesting the resulting earnings into additional transactions.
The company’s post-acquisition initiatives can include reorganizing teams, modernizing technology, redesigning interfaces, accelerating product development and changing marketing and monetization strategies. Artificial intelligence frequently plays a role in both its product vision and operating model.
