Berg Enterprises announced a $2.5 million funding round, led by Antina Capital and structured as a combination of private debt and equity.
Originally founded by Dick Berg in 1974, BEI is celebrating its fiftieth year and still betting on the trades.
The company’s work includes the design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical and plumbing systems across the American Southwest. And current projects include Belgium’s F-35 Hangar at Luke Air Force Base in the greater Phoenix area, a school expansion at the center of the Tohono Oʼodham Nation, renovations to the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park, refreshing an enlisted USAF barracks in Del Rio, an Air and Marine Operations facility for US Customs and Border Protection in Laredo, and at many other key locations along the southern border.
They are also sourcing new talent from rural areas, imbuing small unit leaders with decision-making authority, and utilizing technology to enhance the client experience.
Antina owns 60,000+ acres across Texas that host multiple businesses, including one of North America’s largest solar developments. And they also own commercial real estate assets across North Texas.
Ashley Watt of Antina and Berg Enterprises CEO Tyler Johnston believes they can innovate to better support infrastructure that serves the warfighter (especially in challenging environments). This is a worthy cause for two former Marines, and they hope it will benefit other commercial developments in their mutual operating regions.
