Berlin Packaging, the world’s largest hybrid packaging supplier, announced the acquisition of O.Berk Company, a family-owned provider of plastic, glass, and metal containers, closures, and value-added packaging solutions. The transaction expands Berlin Packaging’s presence in key pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, beauty, and personal care markets across North America.

Founded in 1910 in Newark, New Jersey, O.Berk began as a supplier of bottles and jars to local chemical plants and food companies. The company later transitioned to family ownership and played a role in the commercialization of plastic bottles and closures. Today, under fourth-generation owners Marc Gaelen and Meryl Japha, O.Berk operates facilities in New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland, and Southern California and serves customers in beauty, personal care, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, household, food, and beverage markets.

In addition to its packaging portfolio, O.Berk operates BottleStore.com, an e-commerce platform that supports small businesses and emerging brands. The company also provides design and innovation services, custom tooling, decoration, warehousing, logistics management, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance support.

Berlin Packaging said the acquisition enhances its capabilities in fast-growing end markets, adds to its value-added services, and expands its North American footprint. The combination also provides O.Berk customers with access to Berlin Packaging’s global supply chain, sustainability expertise, logistics capabilities, digital tools, and Studio One Eleven design services.

Berlin Packaging supplies billions of glass, plastic, and metal containers and closures annually, combining manufacturing, distribution, and value-added services to support customers across multiple industries.
