Bernhard Capital Partners has acquired Revenew and established a new Infrastructure-Focused Professional Services platform around the Houston-based cost recovery and performance consulting company.
Revenew provides contract compliance, supplier payment review, performance improvement, profit recovery and sales and use tax recovery services for organizations operating in asset-intensive sectors including utilities, energy, manufacturing, mining, pharmaceuticals and chemicals.
Since its founding, Revenew has helped customers identify more than $2 billion of hard-dollar savings and cost recoveries.
The company combines specialized consulting expertise with proprietary technology, advanced data analytics and a data platform designed to analyze complex contracts, payments and operating information.
Bernhard plans to use Revenew as the foundation of a broader professional services platform focused on infrastructure-related customers.
The investment firm’s strategy centers on markets where infrastructure operators face persistent requirements around cost control, operational performance, compliance and asset management.
Revenew’s existing relationships with large enterprises provide a customer base from which the combined platform can pursue additional growth.
Bernhard intends to support investment in technology and innovation while using its existing relationships throughout infrastructure markets to help Revenew expand.
The deal fits Bernhard Capital’s broader investment strategy of building platforms around essential infrastructure and services.
The firm manages more than $6 billion of assets and focuses on complex and frequently regulated markets characterized by durable underlying demand.
For Revenew, the partnership provides additional capital and operating resources without changing the basic proposition of helping large organizations recover money, control costs and improve performance across complicated operations.
