Bettabite is a company that provides personalized nutritional planning and meal solutions. Pulse 2.0 interviewed Bettabite founder and CEO Olivia Crawford to gain a deeper understanding of the company.
Olivia Crawford’s Background

Could you tell me more about your background? Crawford said:
“I’ve always been the creative type. Ever since I could hold a crayon, I was drawing or designing something. I studied Advertising at SCAD and have spent the past eight years in UX, working across startup environments and enterprise companies. I’ve always been fascinated by how people interact with systems and eventually that curiosity grew into something bigger: a desire to fix a system that felt fundamentally broken: job searching and hiring.”
Formation Of The Company
How did the idea for the company come together? Crawford shared:
“It actually started during a venting session with my sister, who was job hunting. She said, ‘If you compared me to these other applicants, I’d be just as good, if not better.’ Compare was the word that stuck with me. It got me thinking about how we use data and visuals to make big decisions in investing, so why not apply that same logic to compare skills when hiring?”
“On top of that, everyone I talked to was frustrated by the same thing: rewriting their resume over and over to match job posts. In a world full of dashboards and data, why are we still using static Word documents?”
“What if applying for a job was more like comparing charts than writing essays? That spark became Bettabite.”
Favorite Memory
What has been your favorite memory working for the company so far? Crawford reflected:
“Oh I have two…Getting our first message from a user saying, ‘I finally got a callback! This chart made it so easy to show what I can actually do.’ That was the moment it all felt real.”
“But a close second? Demo-ing at the SXSW expo this year and seeing how quickly people understood the product and wanted to sign up on the spot. That was electric.”
Core Products
What are the company’s core products and features? Crawford explained:
“Bettabite transforms resumes and job posts into interactive skill charts. Think of it as a visual dashboard of expertise, growth, and personality fit.”
“Applicants can track their skills, take a personality assessment, and apply through chart comparison.”
“Employers get clear, consistent insights, avoid resume fatigue, and can provide structured feedback and status updates automatically.”
Challenges Faced
Have you faced any challenges in your sector of work recently? Crawford acknowledged:
“Oh, definitely. One of the biggest challenges has been getting people to realize that resumes and job posts don’t have to live in Word doc format anymore.”
“We get ignored a lot..but we’re flipping that by showing, not telling. When people see a skill chart next to a job chart, it clicks. Our content strategy leans into education, transformation, and a little humor to break down resistance.”
Evolution Of The Company’s Technology
How has the company’s technology evolved since launching? Crawford noted:
“We started with static charts and now they’re smart, dynamic, and self-updating. As users grow in their roles or complete tasks, their skills evolve in real-time.”
“We’ve also added application lifecycle tracking, so applicants can see exactly where they are in the process. No more ghosting. No more guessing.”
Significant Milestones
What have been some of the company’s most significant milestones? Crawford cited:
– Launching our MVP and getting our first user within 24 hours
– Getting featured in Authority Magazine and Forbes
– Converting our first paying employer through a cold DM. Proof people get it
– Reaching 10,000 views on a demo video without spending a dollar on ads
Customer Success Stories
Can you share any specific customer success stories? Crawford highlighted:
“A recruiter for a startup used Bettabite to try a new way to vet talent. It helped her realize her job post needed more clarity, so she added foundational skills and specific tools. That alone weeded out mismatches.”
“Then she used our team analysis and made a small pivot on the personality fit required for the role which completely shifted who she hired. That’s the kind of insight you just can’t get from a pile of resumes.”
Funding/Revenue
Are you able to discuss funding and/or revenue metrics? Crawford revealed:
“We’re bootstrapped for now, and we’re focused on testing traction before raising. Revenue is early-stage, but we’re already seeing conversion from free to paid, especially when employers post multiple jobs or want long-term access to their talent pipeline.”
Total Addressable Market
What total addressable market (TAM) size is the company pursuing? Crawford assessed:
“We’re going after the $30+ billion global HR tech market. We are starting with resume builders, job boards, and ATS tools. Long term, our vision is to become the operating system for skill discovery and growth, touching everything from hiring to training and career development.”
Differentiation From The Competition
What differentiates the company from its competition? Crawford affirmed:
“Most platforms are trying to make better-looking resumes, we’re evolving the entire format.”
“Instead of keyword-matching PDFs, we use dynamic skill charts. It’s visual, interactive, and makes comparison quick, transparent, and fair.”
“In a world where AI is rewriting resumes, we help people show their actual abilities and impacts. Because if your resume looks like 10 others… that’s not a good sign.”
Future Company Goals
What are some of the company’s future goals? Crawford emphasized:
– Build out a recommendation engine for personalized skill growth
– Launch Phase 2 of our AI features: Career Trajectory Simulation, Resume Enhancements, and Interview Assistants
– Partner with bootcamps and upskilling platforms to verify skill growth in real time
– Launch our “hire by chart” Slack integration for internal mobility and hiring
– Reach 100,000 job seekers and 10,000 employers by next year
Additional Thoughts
Any other topics you would like to discuss? Crawford concluded:
“I’d love to talk about the emotional rollercoaster of job searching and hiring.”
“It’s more than just resumes, it’s about rejection, confidence, and second chances.”
“Bettabite is here to humanize the process. We want to make hiring more transparent, more honest and way less painful. And we’re just getting started.”
