BGF has appointed Anita Dougall as a Non-Executive Director, adding an entrepreneur and data intelligence executive to its Board as the investment firm continues to emphasize data-driven innovation and support for high-growth UK and Ireland businesses.
Dougall is the CEO of Sagacity Solutions, a data intelligence business for consumer brands that she co-founded in 2005. BGF said her experience scaling and leading a high-growth business will strengthen the Board’s entrepreneurial expertise, following the 2024 appointment of Rosaleen Blair CME, Founder of AMS Solutions, as a Non-Executive Director.
BGF highlighted Dougall’s recent external recognition, noting that in 2025, she and Sagacity Solutions were ranked No. 2 in The Independent E2E Forum’s 100 fastest growing female-led businesses in the UK, a list based on growth rates over the past three years.
Before founding Sagacity, Dougall held senior roles in investment banking at NatWest Markets and worked at One2One, now EE, where she led credit strategy. BGF said her background in building a technology-led business and navigating regulated sectors aligns with its focus on digital transformation and AI-driven innovation, with the aim of unlocking value and operational efficiencies internally and across its portfolio of more than 350 businesses.
BGF also announced a forthcoming Board change, with Alice Avis MBE expected to step down as a Non-Executive Director in April 2026 after a 10-year tenure.
The appointment comes shortly after BGF pledges to deploy £3 billion into high-potential British businesses over the next five years, with at least £300 million earmarked for female-led businesses.
