Bhindi AI: Interview With Sowmay Jain About The Agentic AI Platform Company

By Amit Chowdhry • Yesterday at 1:20 PM

Bhindi AI is an agentic AI platform designed to be an everything app that automates tasks and workflows across different applications using natural language prompts, aiming to reduce the need for users to manage multiple apps and combat AI fatigue. Pulse 2.0 interviewed Bhindi AI founder Sowmay Jain to gain a deeper understanding of the company.

Sowmay Jain’s Background

Sowmay Jain

Could you tell me more about your background? Jain said:

“I’ve been building companies since the age of 20. I was particularly fascinated by AI and blockchain, and wanted to make complex technology accessible to everyone. This passion led me to become a serial entrepreneur in these industries.”

“I co-founded Instadapp with my brother, Samyak Jain, and our goal was to make decentralized finance less intimidating by building a tool to simplify complicated blockchain interactions. We later went on to grow another DeFi platform, Fluid.io, which now manages over $3.9 billion in assets. The company was backed by investors such as Naval Ravikant, Coinbase Ventures, Pantera Capital, Balaji Srinivasan, and Cyber Fund.”

“A few years ago, I was thrilled to be named on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list for my work in the crypto space. Today, as the founder of Bhindi, I’m using everything I’ve learned to build an AI platform that feels natural, human, and intuitively turns users’ thoughts into actions.”

Formation Of The Company

How did the idea for the company come together? Jain shared:

“The idea for Bhindi was born out of a real need within our internal development team at Upsurge Labs. We noticed how a simple prompt-based coding tool could significantly streamline workflows, and this led us to ask the question of whether we could apply this same principle to every aspect of our work.”

“We started by building an internal tool to solve developer problems, which allowed us to make code edits and manage repositories without leaving the command line. This early experiment and product iteration showed us the power of agent employment, and what started as an internal project quickly evolved into a full-fledged product with over 200 app integrations.”

Favorite Memory

What has been your favorite memory working for the company so far? Jain reflected:

“My favorite memory was the night we officially launched Bindi AI to the public. It was mid-May, and the team was gathered in a room for a midnight launch. Seeing the first live subscriptions come through at 2 am was an incredible experience. It was a powerful validation of all the hard work and belief that went into creating Bhindi, and it’s a memory I’ll never forget.”

“We built this tool from the ground up with raw hustle, just enough sleep, and all heart because we truly believe in the product. This one night truly embodied the spirit of innovation and creation at Bhindi AI.”

Core Products

What are the company’s core products and features? Jain explained:

“Bhindi is an agentic operating system with over 200 background apps. These apps are what make our text-to-action functionality possible. You can type a command, and Bhindi’s background apps mimic human behavior and carry out complex tasks for you. We’ve built seamless integrations with popular platforms like Notion, Reddit, LinkedIn, X, Slack, and GitHub, allowing users to automate their daily workflows and get more done with simple language prompts.”

Challenges Faced

What challenges have Jain and the team faced in building the company? Jain acknowledged:

“The most challenging part is keeping up in such a fast-moving industry with so many new companies. Building a team that is truly AI-first is also difficult because traditional approaches don’t work here. But we have kept the momentum going, moving fast with other industry players, and staying one step ahead as we do so. Ultimately, all the AI apps are going to collide into a single UI, and we are working towards building that UI where the users can come and do anything they want with complete trust in their AI.”

Evolution Of The Company’s Technology

How has the company’s technology evolved since launching? Jain noted:

“We started with a simple CLI-based (Command Line Interface) setup we called Miniature Bhindi, allowing us to trigger personal agents via Cursor. This early experiment helped us realize how lightweight agent deployment could be—users just needed a CLI file and access tokens to perform tasks. No LLMs were involved at this point, apart from Cursor.”

“As usage grew, we built a basic server with a few agents and a frontend for internal use. Users interacted with agents using access tokens—this proved to be a better alternative to MCPs (Model Context Protocol). Eventually, the number of agents and use cases expanded, and Miniature Bhindi evolved into Bhindi.”

“Today, Bhindi is a full agentic operating system. A user request triggers a server call, which makes an AI (LLM) call to determine the required tool calls. Bhindi selects or infers the right agent or agents, makes the necessary API calls, manages OAuth token flows, and provides intelligent feedback loops if something is missing.”

“To optimize performance and cost, we also built Subagents by breaking tool executions into smaller context windows to avoid hallucination and reduce LLM token usage. We also implemented Backrooms, a communication layer for agents to coordinate tasks with others.”

Significant Milestones

What have been some of the company’s most significant milestones? Jain cited:

“Since our public launch in May 2025, our most significant milestones have been the rapid user adoption and expansive growth. We’ve been doubling our user base month-over-month, which signals that our technology is resonating with a wide range of people across geographies, industries, and business verticals.”

“Additionally, we’ve expanded the number of apps and integrations we offer to cater to different sectors, from content creation and software development to marketing and recruiting. Our recent pre-seed funding round of $4M, led by Cyber Fund, has also been a major milestone, giving us the resources to continue to innovate and expand our platform.”

Customer Success Stories

Can you share any specific customer success stories? Jain highlighted:

“We’ve seen people from very different domains use Bhindi successfully. Even within our organization, some team members haven’t opened GitHub in over six months because they can perform everything directly through Bhindi without touching the interface.”

“We’ve also seen marketers manage entire influencer campaigns end-to-end; from content creation to editing to posting on social media – all without manual effort. Developers, marketers, recruiters, and even job applicants are finding ways to streamline their work with Bhindi AI.”

“Bhindi AI has several additional use cases, including:

  • Crypto: The platform can track portfolio changes, log profits and losses, and send AI-powered alerts for significant coin movements.
  • Fintech: It integrates with stock trading apps to check live prices, place buy or sell orders, and track portfolios through a simple chat interface.”

“Over time, we have developed and incorporated many more prompts in our internal prompt library that complete complex workflows like creating financial market briefing summaries, influencer campaigns, or virtual event launches.”

Funding

When asking Jain about the company’s funding details, he revealed:

“We’re excited to share that we’ve raised $4 million pre-seed funding round, which was led by Cyber Fund. We’ll be using this capital to accelerate product development, scale our operations, and expand our global presence.”

Differentiation From The Competition

What differentiates the company from its competition? Jain affirmed:

“We stand out because we were early in moving from general AI to agentic AI, where text turns into action. Even before other AI giants launched their agents and connectors, we were already building in this space. What sets us apart now is our focus on the communication layer between agents. Others are still solving for single-agent workflows, but we are building a framework where agents coordinate with each other and create invisible chains of workflows. This shift from manual prompting to seamless agent-to-agent collaboration is what makes Bhindi different.”

Future Company Goals

What are some of the company’s future goals? Jain concluded:

“In the next few years, all AI companies will move toward the same goal of earning people’s mindshare. We believe the future of AI isn’t about having one giant model but about creating a system of interconnected agents that solve specific problems.”

“Our platform is built on the philosophy that a single app can own a user’s mindshare within a particular context. Our focus is on building trust in AI so that people no longer see work the way they do today, and can instead focus on what humans are meant for –  creating meaningful impact. Bhindi is designed to be the “killer everything app” that will eliminate the need for all other apps and serve as the definitive interface between humans and AI. Try it out at Bhindi AI.”
