BigPanda announced it has acquired Velocity, an AI-powered SRE company specializing in reliability engineering and significant incident response capabilities. The acquisition expands BigPanda’s leadership team, increases investment in agentic AI technologies, and accelerates the delivery of automated incident detection and response for enterprise IT environments.
The acquisition is intended to strengthen BigPanda’s position in the rapidly growing field of agentic IT Operations. The company has focused on transforming IT Operations by applying reasoning-driven automation to replace or augment manual, reactive workflows. BigPanda’s platform is used to automate Tier 1 Operations tasks, support SRE and major incident response teams, and predict and resolve incidents before they affect customers.
Velocity brings SRE expertise, technology, and operational experience that aligns with BigPanda’s strategy to move enterprises from human-led reaction workflows toward proactive automation. By combining the two companies’ capabilities, BigPanda aims to expand the reach and effectiveness of agentic AI solutions that reduce manual workload, improve reliability, and lower operational cost.
Global enterprises currently spend more than $250 billion annually on manual IT operations processes, including detection, response, and prevention. BigPanda intends to reduce these costs by applying reasoning-based automation to tasks that have historically required high-touch human oversight. The integration of Velocity’s technology and engineering talent will further enhance BigPanda’s AI Detection and Response solution, aiming to reduce incident resolution times, minimize operational overhead, and improve IT service resilience.
As part of the acquisition, Velocity founder and CEO Tal Kain will join BigPanda as Vice President of AI Detection and Response. Kain brings experience in scaling engineering organizations and building AI-driven automation systems for enterprise environments. His background includes leadership roles at multiple technology companies and foundational expertise in Israel’s Unit 8200.
