Billables AI announced the closing of a $10.2 million Series A financing round to accelerate development of its AI-powered operational intelligence platform for law firms.
The round was led by Avenue Growth Partners, with participation from existing investors including Wing VC, SignalFire and Alumni Ventures. The company said the proceeds will be used to expand research and development efforts, strengthen go-to-market initiatives and broaden its ecosystem of legal technology partnerships.
Founded in 2023 and based in San Francisco, Billables AI has experienced rapid growth since raising $3.9 million in seed funding in 2024. The company now serves hundreds of law firms, primarily focusing on the midmarket segment.
Billables AI’s platform integrates with tools attorneys already use, including Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Zoom and Adobe, as well as practice management systems. Through secure API connections, the platform captures data on legal work and provides capabilities such as automated time capture, billing optimization, productivity analysis, workflow insights, revenue forecasting and AI application tracking for governance and risk management purposes.
The company differentiates itself from competitors by relying on API integrations instead of screenshot-based or screen-monitoring approaches. Billables AI recently added integrations with Centerbase and Litify, complementing existing partnerships with SurePoint, 8am/MyCase, Clio and LeanLaw.
The funding comes as law firms increasingly seek ways to adopt artificial intelligence while addressing concerns around compliance, confidentiality and operational efficiency. Billables AI said its platform provides firms with visibility into both attorney and AI-generated activity, helping organizations better manage productivity and potential risks.
Earlier this year, Billables AI was named Legal Tech Company of the Year at the 2026 Legalweek Leaders in Tech Law Awards.
KEY QUOTES:
“What impressed us most about Billables AI was the team’s vision for operational intelligence in the legal industry. The company has already established itself as a leader in AI-powered timekeeping, but its broader opportunity extends far beyond billing. Billables AI is building an important system of insight for law firms as they adapt to new business pressures, evolving client expectations and the growing role of AI in legal services.”
Brian Goldsmith, Cofounder and Partner, Avenue Growth Partners
“Timekeeping has always been the foundation, but it was never the ceiling. Law firms are sitting on a wealth of operational data that has historically gone uncaptured and unanalyzed. With this funding, we are accelerating our mission to surface that data, give firms real-time intelligence about how their people and technology are performing and help them make faster, smarter decisions on everything from pricing to staffing to AI governance. We are already seeing our clients lean into these capabilities, and this investment gives us the resources to build even further ahead of their needs.”
Arvind Sujeeth, Cofounder and Chief Executive Officer, Billables AI
