Billington Holdings reported first-half 2026 revenue of £53.95 million, up 29.1% from £41.78 million, with profitability rising sharply as the structural steel specialist benefited from larger and more complex projects.

EBITDA increased to £3.73 million from £2.68 million, while profit before tax jumped 70.1% to £2.84 million from £1.67 million.

Basic earnings per share increased to 16.3 pence from 9.8 pence.

Structural Steelwork revenue increased 31.6% to £47.76 million, with underlying operating profit for the business rising to £2.84 million.

Billington said its order book has reached a record level, providing visibility through 2027 and, for certain projects, into 2028.

Demand is particularly strong across energy, data centers, and infrastructure, while more traditional construction markets remain subdued.

Cash and cash equivalents stood at £12.62 million, down from £20.53 million at the end of 2025, largely because of working capital required to support the larger project pipeline.

The company also has an undrawn £6 million revolving credit facility.

Billington continued investing in manufacturing capacity and operating efficiency at facilities including Wombwell and Shafton.

The company also announced a leadership transition.

Mark Smith will retire as CEO on January 1, 2027, with current Chief Operating Officer Trevor Taylor succeeding him.

Smith will remain with Billington in an advisory role for at least one year to support the transition.

Billington also appointed Olivier Aebi as a Non-Executive Director following the departure of Alexander Ospelt.

The company said the combination of its record order book, balance sheet, and exposure to sectors with stronger demand supports confidence in its full-year performance.
