Bilt, the membership platform focused on housing and residential experiences, announced it has acquired the travel commission management platform Sion for $30 million. The acquisition strengthens Bilt’s travel rewards offering by providing infrastructure that supports thousands of travel advisors serving its growing membership base.
Sion provides commission reconciliation and management software for the travel industry. The platform currently manages more than $7 billion in travel booking revenue and supports over 8,000 travel advisors. The company’s system helps travel businesses reconcile commissions, automate invoice follow-ups, and streamline payments, achieving an 85 percent invoice follow-up success rate.
By acquiring Sion, Bilt gains both the technology and the team needed to extend its hospitality platform to travel advisors. The move enables the company to build a network of travel advisors capable of delivering travel experiences to Bilt members using their rewards.
Founded in 2021, Bilt operates a membership platform focused on the residential ecosystem. Members can earn rewards on housing payments, access neighborhood services, build a path to homeownership, and redeem points for travel and lifestyle experiences including flights, hotels, dining, and fitness.
Travel has become one of the most popular redemption categories among Bilt members. The company said integrating Sion’s infrastructure will improve how travel advisors manage their businesses and better connect them with Bilt’s rewards-driven customer base.
The transaction marks Bilt’s second acquisition in 11 months and reflects its broader strategy to build a hospitality platform spanning housing payments, neighborhood services, and travel experiences.
Following the acquisition, Sion will continue operating independently under the leadership of its co-founders, Irving Betesh and Alfons Musry. The company will maintain its existing customer relationships while expanding its capabilities through integration with Bilt’s platform and network.
Bilt’s platform currently serves a residential network spanning more than 6 million homes through partnerships with major property owners and operators.
