Bimini Capital Management announced the appointment of Ashley B. Griffith as a Class I director, effective November 6, 2025. Griffith fills the board seat previously held by Frank E. Jaumot, who resigned in connection with his retirement after serving as a director since 2009. Jaumot had been involved with the company since its initial capital raise.
Griffith, age 53, will serve the remainder of the term that expires at the 2028 annual meeting of stockholders. He currently serves as a Director in Institutional Sales at Hovde Group, a boutique investment banking firm specializing in community and regional banking. He has held this role since early 2024.
Griffith has over 25 years of experience in institutional sales roles at investment banking firms specializing in the financial sector. His previous roles include serving as Managing Director of Institutional Sales at Compass Point Research and Trading from 2020 to 2024, along with earlier positions at Sandler O’Neill, Evercore, and Fox-Pitt, Kelton. He also spent part of his career in sell-side equity research covering the banking and media sectors. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Hobart College. The company noted that Griffith is the son-in-law of Robert Dwyer, who also serves as a director.
Bimini Capital Management is an asset manager headquartered in Vero Beach, Florida. The company primarily invests in residential mortgage-related securities issued by government-sponsored enterprises such as Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Ginnie Mae.
