Biolevate Raises €30 Million Series A Led By RAISE France And Orange Ventures, Expands Into Boston

Biolevate, a Paris-based developer of AI-powered automation software for the life sciences industry, has raised a €30 million Series A co-led by RAISE France and Orange Ventures, with participation from MSD Global Health Innovation Fund, Station F, and existing investor EQT Ventures. The financing will support Biolevate’s international expansion, accelerate development of its enterprise AI platform, and expand deployments among pharmaceutical and other life sciences organizations. The announcement coincides with the opening of a new Boston office, establishing Biolevate’s presence in the United States.

The financing follows the company’s €6 million seed round in November 2024 and comes after a period of substantial commercial growth.

Biolevate reported that its annual recurring revenue increased 20-fold over the past 12 months. The company now has more than a dozen enterprise customers using its technology in production, reflecting increased adoption of AI-powered automation across regulated life sciences operations.

Founded by a team of former Dataiku engineers and AI researchers, Biolevate develops specialized software designed to automate complex scientific and regulatory processes while maintaining the traceability and oversight required in heavily regulated environments.

The company’s platform combines artificial intelligence with scientific evidence, regulatory knowledge, organizational information, and governed workflows to help pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies automate research and administrative activities.

Its technology addresses a challenge facing the life sciences industry as organizations seek to accelerate drug discovery, clinical development, and commercialization.

Although advances in AI are creating opportunities to improve scientific research and identify new therapeutic candidates, pharmaceutical companies continue to face operational bottlenecks involving scientific literature reviews, regulatory submissions, clinical documentation, and compliance requirements.

These processes frequently require highly specialized employees to analyze substantial amounts of information and produce documentation that can withstand scientific and regulatory scrutiny.

Biolevate aims to reduce this administrative burden through an enterprise-grade agentic AI platform that grounds its outputs in source evidence throughout the workflow.

Rather than relying on general-purpose AI applications to generate responses, the company has developed specialized technology that combines automated reasoning with access to validated scientific and regulatory information.

Its system maintains traceability, auditability, reproducibility, and human oversight, enabling life sciences organizations to automate regulated work while preserving control over important decisions.

Initially developed to accelerate regulatory approval workflows, Biolevate’s platform has expanded across the life sciences value chain.

Its applications now include scientific research, clinical trials, health technology assessments, regulatory dossiers, drug discovery, and drug development.

The platform is capable of operating up to 100,000 AI agents concurrently, supporting organizations seeking to automate large volumes of complex scientific and regulatory tasks.

According to Biolevate, its technology can accelerate systematic literature reviews and research synthesis by a factor of 16.

The company also reports that its platform delivers an 80% efficiency improvement in regulatory intelligence and compliance activities.

These capabilities are intended to help life sciences organizations reduce the time required to collect, analyze, and organize scientific information while maintaining the standards necessary for regulatory and clinical applications.

Biolevate has established partnerships across the pharmaceutical and technology industries, including relationships with Sanofi, NVIDIA, Microsoft, and regulatory organizations.

Its new Boston office will support expansion into the U.S. pharmaceutical market, providing the company with a presence near biotechnology businesses, major research institutions, and global pharmaceutical organizations.

The company intends to use the Series A proceeds to strengthen its international operations and expand its technology capabilities as demand for evidence-based AI automation increases.

Biolevate has also expanded its workforce, doubling its headcount over the past year to 50 employees.

The company plans to double its workforce again over the next 12 months, supporting additional product development, customer deployments, and international commercial operations.

Biolevate is investing in intellectual property development alongside its commercial expansion. It has drafted seven patent applications spanning multiple therapeutic areas, with two already filed in Europe.

The company’s latest financing also includes changes to its board.

Aymar Hénin, the French entrepreneur whose investment vehicle RAISE France co-led the round, has been appointed Chairman of Biolevate’s Board of Directors.

Jérôme Berger, Head of Group Strategy and Venture Capital at Orange, has also joined the board.

Their appointments are intended to provide additional strategic and operational expertise as Biolevate expands internationally and strengthens its relationships with large pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations.

For Biolevate, the financing provides capital to accelerate its development of AI infrastructure capable of supporting regulated scientific and business operations at scale.

The company’s strategy is to move beyond isolated AI applications and provide an integrated automation platform that enables life sciences organizations to incorporate AI into existing workflows while maintaining appropriate governance and oversight.
