Birdsview Raises €2.5 Million Seed To Scale Avys AI Retention Agent For Retailers

Birdsview announced a €2.5 million seed round to support Avys, its AI-powered digital worker designed to help retailers grow repeat purchases. The round was backed by Fortino Ventures and Newion. Fortino Ventures has backed Billy Grace, an AI marketing platform in the Benelux, while Newion was an early investor in Parloa, an AI agent company that reached unicorn status.

Birdsview was initially backed in its pre-seed phase by TGFS Technologiegründerfonds Sachsen. The new seed round gives the company additional international support as it builds Avys for retail retention marketing.

Avys is designed to address one of the biggest challenges for retailers: bringing customers back for repeat purchases. Personalized direct messages through channels like email and SMS can be effective, but Birdsview said traditional tools become difficult to scale once a retailer’s product catalog grows.

According to the company, existing marketing platforms often require humans to define rules around which customers receive which messages and when. As catalog complexity increases, many retailers rely on agencies to manage retention campaigns, adding cost and operational friction.

Avys is positioned as an AI B2C Retention Agent trained on retail product knowledge. The platform is designed to understand a retailer’s products, determine what to pitch to each customer, identify the right timing, and deliver individualized email campaigns.

Birdsview said Avys can drive up to 8x more revenue than classic tools while operating at catalog scale. The company’s broader goal is to replace traditional retention software workflows and reduce retailers’ dependence on agencies for email marketing execution.

Birdsview was founded by Ozan Brochwitz-Tuerker and Tim Kuesters after they operated a customer retention agency themselves. The founders said that experience gave them direct insight into the pain points Avys is designed to solve.

The company believes the next phase of customer retention will be defined by AI agents that perform the work directly, rather than tools that simply help marketing teams or agencies work faster.
