Birdsview Raises €3.7 Million As AI Concrete Scanning Platform Expands Across 8 Countries

Birdsview has raised €3.7 million to expand its non-destructive concrete scanning technology internationally after customers across eight countries adopted the platform.

The financing included Kiilto Ventures, Sarsia, Butterfly Ventures, Proptechfonden, Nordic Makers, Momentum and several existing investors.

Birdsview plans to use the funding for commercial expansion, industrial scaling and international growth.

The Norwegian construction technology company has developed a hardware and software platform it describes as an “MRI for concrete.”

The system allows construction and engineering professionals to inspect the interior of concrete structures without drilling or damaging them.

Birdsview combines ground-penetrating radar, LiDAR, 3D tracking technology, proprietary software and AI-powered analytics.

The system generates detailed BIM-ready digital models with millimeter-level accuracy.

Those models can help users identify reinforcement and other embedded components before renovation, retrofitting or other construction work begins.

Birdsview is targeting a problem particularly relevant to aging buildings and infrastructure, where incomplete information about existing concrete can increase the cost and risk of renovation.

The company launched its technology in January 2025 and has since scanned more than 100 structures, including buildings and bridges.

Product pre-sales began in March 2026, and customers in eight countries have already adopted Birdsview Concrete.

The company has collaborated with construction and engineering organizations including Vinci, Bouygues Construction, EllisDon, Sweco, Asplan Viak and Rambøll.

Birdsview has offices in Bergen and Oslo and employs 14 people.

KEY QUOTES:

“As the construction industry seeks more sustainable ways to maintain, renovate and extend the life of existing structures, technologies that improve decision-making while reducing waste and unnecessary interventions become increasingly important. We believe Birdsview has strong potential to create value across the built environment and are excited to support the company’s next phase of growth.”

Matti Rönkkö, Managing Director Of Kiilto Ventures

“This funding round is an important milestone for Birdsview. With EUR 3.7 million secured, and a Nordic investor consortium that understands both our technology and our market, we now have the resources to scale commercially and industrially across multiple countries. The fact that customers in eight countries have already chosen Birdsview Concrete just weeks after launch shows that we are solving a real problem for the industry.”
