Bisedge Logistics and Infrastructure has announced a $20 million investment from Metier Private Equity, a pan-African private equity firm, to accelerate expansion across African markets and grow its fleet of electric material handling equipment. The capital will be deployed to meet strong customer demand for outsourced and long-term rental electric material handling fleets across Sub-Saharan Africa, where businesses are increasingly looking to eliminate capital expenditure on equipment while improving fleet reliability and uptime.
Bisedge operates a “Zero CapEx” model that enables customers to modernize their fleets of forklifts, reach trucks, and tractors with the latest technology from Linde Material Handling — the world’s leading manufacturer of material handling equipment — without incurring ownership costs. The model delivers significant reductions in total cost of ownership, lower emissions through the transition from diesel and gas to electric equipment, and higher overall efficiency of intralogistics operations. Bisedge is the exclusive Linde Material Handling partner in Nigeria, Tanzania, Kenya, and South Africa, and supports intralogistics operations with more than 1,250 colleagues across Sub-Saharan Africa and the Gulf Cooperation Council region.
The Metier partnership positions Bisedge to respond to growing market demand at scale, expanding both the breadth of its fleet and the depth of its service operations across key African markets. Co-founded by Christian Wessels, Chief Executive Officer, and Jasper Graf von Hardenberg, Chief Operating Officer, Bisedge said its goal is to drive sustainability beyond equipment supply through performance-driven solutions that improve customers’ operational efficiency on an ongoing basis.
