Cordatus Capital and B&J Welding Supply announced the acquisition of GM Welding Supply, expanding B&J’s presence in West Texas while reinforcing its commitment to independent, customer-focused operations.
GM Welding Supply, based in San Angelo, Texas, distributes industrial gases, propane, and welding supplies that complement B&J’s existing product offerings and service model. Founded in 2008 by Chris and Jennifer Juarez, GM has established a reputation for technical expertise and strong local service, values aligned with B&J’s customer-centric approach. The transaction closed in the summer of 2025.
In addition to the acquisition, B&J Welding Supply is advancing its organic growth strategy with new locations in Odessa, Texas, which opened in the fourth quarter of 2025, and Abilene, Texas, scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2026. The company continues to focus on expanding across Texas and surrounding states through a combination of strategic acquisitions and new branch openings.
B&J aims to partner with independent packaged gas distributors that reflect the entrepreneurial spirit and family legacy common in the industry. Alongside its acquisition strategy, the company plans to continue investing in organic expansion within its core markets.
Founded in 1977 by Bob Jones in Lamesa, Texas, and now headquartered in Lubbock, Texas, B&J Welding Supply operates nine locations across West Texas. The company provides industrial and medical gases, propane, specialty chemicals, and welding supplies to a range of end markets. “When you decide to sell your business, there are many things to consider including the wellbeing of your employees, the customers who have been supportive and loyal, and the vendors who have been trusted partners. Jennifer and I are deeply grateful to everyone who has helped build this business over the years. Along the way, we have had other opportunities to sell our business, but they were not a good fit. That said, we believe B&J is a perfect match. The B&J family has welcomed us in and provided our crew with much needed expansion. Everyone is looking forward to the future.”
