Black Forest Labs has raised $300 million in a Series B funding round led by AMP and Salesforce Ventures, valuing the company at $3.25 billion post-money. The investment builds on a previously unannounced Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from BroadLight Capital, Creandum, Earlybird VC, General Catalyst, Northzone, and Nvidia. With this new round, the company has now secured more than $450 million in total funding.

Founded in 2024 by the researchers behind latent diffusion and the early breakthroughs that reshaped modern image generation, Black Forest Labs has rapidly emerged as a global leader in visual intelligence. Its FLUX model family has become one of the most widely used text-to-image technologies worldwide, achieving tens of millions of downloads on Hugging Face and powering creative and enterprise workflows in partnership with numerous Fortune 500 companies.

The company operates in Freiburg and San Francisco and is focused on building multimodal systems that unify perception, reasoning, and generative capabilities. Black Forest Labs has positioned visual AI as a critical shift from image creation to meaningful visual understanding, which is driving growing global demand.

The company pursues a dual approach that pairs open foundational research with large-scale enterprise deployments. This strategy has allowed Black Forest Labs to scale efficiently while maintaining a strong emphasis on responsibility, accessibility, and technical rigor. Its models are already embedded within platforms used by global creative and enterprise teams, including Adobe, Canva, Deutsche Telekom, and Meta.

The new capital will support expanded research, infrastructure, and hiring as the team advances the FLUX model family, including the recently released FLUX.2. As organizations seek high-performance, openly available visual AI systems, Black Forest Labs plans to deepen its work on next-generation frontier models.

In addition to earlier investors, the company is collaborating with a wide group of strategic partners and backers, including Temasek, Air Street Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, StepStone Group, Visionaries Club, S32 Ventures, Notion Capital, the European Tech Collective, Shutterstock, QuantumLight Capital, Canva, Figma Ventures, Cherry, Adobe Ventures, Deutsche Telekom’s T.Capital, LEA Partners, SV Angel, Lux Capital, Samsung Next, Headline, and prominent angel investors such as Nico Rosberg, Guillermo Rauch, Michael Ovitz, Mati Staniszewski, and Clem Delangue.

Black Forest Labs continues to focus on developing frontier technology for pixels, enabling creators, developers, and enterprises to turn imagination into reality. Its team previously pioneered Stable Diffusion, FLUX.1, and the latent diffusion techniques that defined the modern generative AI landscape.
