Blank Street Raises $75 Million In Primary Funding Led By General Atlantic At $650 Million Valuation

Blank Street has raised $75 million in primary growth capital led by General Atlantic, valuing the fast-growing coffee and matcha chain at approximately $650 million as it accelerates its West Coast expansion and broadens its offering beyond morning coffee.

The broader equity transaction totaled approximately $105 million, including $30 million in secondary share sales involving existing shareholders.

Existing investors, including Left Lane Capital, General Catalyst, and Tiger Global, also participated in the financing. The investment represents an increase from Blank Street’s roughly $500 million valuation in 2025.

Blank Street launched from a single coffee cart in Brooklyn in 2020 and has since expanded to more than 100 locations, primarily across New York and London.

The company is now making a larger push into California after opening its first Los Angeles location in Studio City, with additional locations planned across the region.

Blank Street is also broadening its strategy from a traditional coffee chain toward an all-day food and beverage brand. The company has built a particularly strong following around matcha and is expanding into additional products including snacks and ice cream.

The strategy reflects changing customer behavior across Blank Street’s stores, with the company increasingly focused on serving customers throughout the day rather than concentrating primarily on morning coffee.

Blank Street is responding by evolving its menu, store design, operating flow and customer experience as it looks for additional ways to serve customers across morning, afternoon and evening occasions.

The new capital provides additional resources to expand that model across the U.S. while continuing to grow its presence in the U.K.

What continues to evolve is how we bring that idea to life, finding unique and creative ways to show up for you across your day. A peaceful morning coffee, an afternoon matcha with friends, or an ice cream after dinner.

All the choices we’ve made so far, from store design and bar flow, to the ingredients that make up our menu, to beverage design and presentation, to our hospitality and Insider program, are all in service of creating the best possible experience for you.
