Blast Security has emerged from stealth with a $10 million seed round, introducing a preventive approach to cloud risk mitigation that aims to replace the industry’s longstanding reliance on reactive detection. The round was co-led by 10D and MizMaa Ventures, marking one of the notable early-stage cybersecurity financings this quarter.
Founded by industry veterans from Solebit, which Mimecast acquired, and former members of elite Israeli Defense Force units, Blast Security is debuting its Preemptive Cloud Defense Platform. The platform is designed to help global enterprises eliminate cloud risk by enforcing preventive guardrails that keep environments secure by design, rather than relying on traditional alert-driven workflows.
The Tel Aviv-based startup is already deployed across multiple major enterprises, where it reports preventing more than 90 percent of risk while reducing the potential impact radius of cloud misconfigurations. The company’s operating model tests, models, and enforces every cloud change in advance, using native cloud controls to create what it describes as a unified prevention-first security fabric. The goal is to assure security teams that prevention efforts will not break production or slow innovation.
Blast’s founding team—Boris Vaynberg, Ido Bukra, and Roi Panai—developed the company’s central thesis after being called to reserve duty to lead a national cloud security initiative. The experience led them to conclude that modern cloud environments require security that operates at cloud-native speed and complexity. That prevention must be woven directly into the fabric of every deployment. Their previous collaboration at Solebit and long-standing work in advanced cloud defense underpin the company’s engineering approach, which emphasizes practicality and proactive mitigation.
The rise of multi-cloud architectures, paired with the accelerating adoption of AI, has intensified operational complexity for enterprises, widening security gaps faster than teams can address them. While the market has been saturated with detection and remediation tools, Blast argues that only prevention can reliably mitigate cloud risk at scale.
Investors backing the company say this shift toward proactive security represents a pivotal market transition. Early enterprise adopters of Blast’s technology also describe prevention-first operations as a strategic priority that strengthens resilience without increasing headcount or manual workload.
KEY QUOTES
“Cloud adoption and AI have multiplied complexity and risk faster than teams can keep up. The market is full of tools for detection and remediation, but the only reliable way to mitigate risk is to prevent it in the first place – and that’s what Blast is built to do. When Henry Ford introduced the automobile, many believed horses were good enough. It’s hard to see how a new approach can redefine the standard – until it becomes the standard. Our mission is to make prevention the new standard in cloud security and lead the market shift.”
Boris Vaynberg, Co-Founder and CEO, Blast Security
“At Via, we see the shift from alert-chasing to prevention as a strategic program to strengthen our overall defense. Blast enables us to enforce preventive guardrails at scale – making our cloud environments more resilient with the same resources, less manual effort, and the trust to ensure zero disruption to the business.”
Oren Hogery, CISO, Via
“Blast’s founding team has a remarkable history of solving complex security challenges. Their preemptive approach to cloud security meets a growing critical need in the market, enabling organizations to prevent threats rather than merely reacting to them. We’re thrilled to back Blast as they set a new standard for truly proactive cloud defense.”
