Blockstream Capital Partners announced plans to acquire Corbiere Capital Management, a Jersey-based equities hedge fund manager founded by Rodrigo Rodriguez, marking a significant expansion of its institutional investment platform. The deal strengthens BCP’s strategy of uniting traditional finance and Bitcoin-linked investment solutions, supported by its strategic partnership with digital asset custodian Komainu.
As part of the integration, Komainu will supply corporate support, exchange connectivity, collateral management, and custody services to help advance BCP’s broader objective of delivering a comprehensive suite of strategies for global allocators seeking both conventional and Bitcoin-referenced exposures.
The acquisition is expected to accelerate BCP’s efforts to build an institutional-grade platform by adding Corbiere’s capabilities in equity and event-driven markets. Corbiere’s approach complements BCP’s existing framework and is designed to enhance the firm’s ability to develop diversified strategies that incorporate Bitcoin-related components with traditional market opportunities. The transaction also formalizes Rodriguez’s appointment as Chief Investment Officer of Blockstream Capital Management, a newly formed asset management entity under BCP.
Rodriguez brings more than twenty-five years of experience across JPMorgan, Credit Suisse, and BlueCrest, where he previously served as Chief Investment Officer of its event-driven portfolio. Since founding Corbiere Capital Management in 2023, he has assembled a team with extensive expertise in global equity markets, corporate actions, and tactical trading strategies. Corbiere’s integration into BCP also supports a multi-strategy approach that delivers a more balanced, resilient portfolio construction for institutional clients.
Komainu, already a strategic investment within the BCP ecosystem, will play a key operational role through Komainu Connect, its off-exchange collateral management and settlement platform. The company will provide the custodial and corporate infrastructure required to support the expanded investment offering.
The combined platform is expected to benefit from three primary enhancements: deeper event-driven and equity-focused capabilities, a broader slate of multi-strategy investment options, and an infusion of experienced investment talent aligned with BCP’s emphasis on governance, operational rigor, and fiduciary standards.
