Blockstream Capital Partners (BCP) announced it has signed an agreement to acquire a division within Numeus Group’s digital asset trading and investment business, bringing a 10-person derivatives trading team and select Bitcoin-focused yield strategies into the Blockstream Capital platform.
The transaction centers on expanding BCP’s Bitcoin derivatives and volatility capabilities, including trading approaches designed to generate yield across different market regimes. As part of the deal, Numeus co-founder and Chief Investment Officer Deepak Gulati will join Blockstream Capital Management as co-chief investment officer alongside Rodrigo Rodriguez.
BCP said Gulati brings experience spanning traditional finance and crypto markets, including a prior role as global head of proprietary trading at JPMorgan and leadership of Argentiere Capital, a volatility-focused hedge fund. Numeus was founded in 2021 with the view that derivatives and institutional-grade market structure would help drive the maturation of Bitcoin and digital asset markets.
Komainu, which BCP described as an existing strategic investment, played a central role in the transaction and will provide operational support, including exchange connectivity, collateral management, and custody services, according to the announcement. BCP positioned the expanded setup as part of a broader push to build an institutional platform for digital asset trading, structured solutions, and Bitcoin-referenced returns.
The acquisition follows BCP’s December 2025 purchase of Corbiere Capital Management, a Jersey-based equities hedge fund manager led by Rodriguez, and is expected to set the stage for further collaboration between BCP and Numeus.
BCP describes itself as a group of early Bitcoin investors and institutional finance leaders affiliated with Blockstream CEO Adam Back, investing across asset classes and across what it calls the “stack” of Bitcoin finance, from infrastructure such as trading and custody to Bitcoin-based applications and financial instruments. Numeus, which said it has a team of 33 across Switzerland, New York, London and Mauritius, operates an asset management division called Forteus under an FCA-regulated framework and maintains a strategic partnership with Schroders.
