Bloomberg Completes Canoe Intelligence Acquisition To Expand Private Markets Platform

Bloomberg has completed its acquisition of Canoe Intelligence, an AI-powered data management platform focused on automating private markets data collection and delivery.

The acquisition expands Bloomberg’s efforts to connect public and private market investment workflows as private assets become a larger component of institutional portfolios.

Canoe converts unstructured private markets information into structured and validated data that can flow into downstream investment systems.

Joint clients can already send permissioned and validated private fund data from Canoe directly into Bloomberg PORT Enterprise, helping investors analyze public and private assets through a consolidated portfolio view.

Bloomberg plans to increase investment in Canoe’s platform and expand its global reach, data coverage and private markets capabilities.

The companies also plan to deepen integration across exposure and risk analysis, cash management, underlying holdings analysis and investment books of record.

Future development is expected to include pre-investment fund discovery, screening, benchmarking and comparative analysis.

Bloomberg also plans to incorporate private markets intelligence into ASKB, its agentic AI conversational interface, within a permissioned environment.

Canoe will continue providing its existing service while operating as part of Bloomberg.
