Blossom Health, an AI operating system provider for psychiatry, announced that it has raised $20 million across a Series A and Seed funding round to expand access to mental healthcare and accelerate development of its applied AI technology.
The Series A was led by Headline, with Co-Founder and Managing Partner Mathias Schilling joining the company’s board. Returning investors Village Global and TA Ventures participated alongside new investors Operator Partners and Correlation Ventures. The round also included a number of angel investors, including founders from General Catalyst, Flatiron Health, Sword Health, Fay, Elemy, Zip, Blank Street, Assured, Bridge, Birches Health, and Enzo Health.
The company plans to use the funding to expand its geographic footprint, deepen relationships with national and regional health insurance payors, onboard additional providers, and invest in research and development to advance its AI capabilities.
Founded by CEO John Zhao, Blossom Health has developed an AI-powered operating system designed to support psychiatrists by orchestrating interactions across the healthcare ecosystem, including patients, payors, pharmacists, and referral partners. The platform integrates clinical copilots and autonomous agents that assist with diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication selection while also reducing administrative burdens for clinicians.
Blossom’s technology is already being used by hundreds of clinicians treating thousands of patients across multiple states. The company aims to improve mental health outcomes while increasing accessibility and efficiency in psychiatric care delivery.
The platform also addresses operational challenges within medical practices by automating tasks such as billing, scheduling, care coordination, and documentation, enabling psychiatrists to focus more on patient care. With in-network coverage across major insurers and rapid patient access, the company is positioning itself as a scalable infrastructure layer for modern mental healthcare.
