Blue Butterfly announced it has acquired IndERA, formerly known as Crystal Media, a digital marketing, education, and events platform that serves independent retailers across the United States. The transaction brings together IndERA’s marketing and education platform with Blue Butterfly’s expertise in retail operations, profitability strategy, and retail real estate advisory.
IndERA has spent more than 13 years providing digital marketing services, educational programming, industry events, and community-building resources to independent retailers and manufacturers. By joining forces with Blue Butterfly, the platform will gain expanded strategic and operational support to help retailers improve store performance and plan long-term growth.
Blue Butterfly is led by partners Patricia Norins and Michael Brielmann, who collectively bring decades of experience in retail operations, merchandising, sourcing, leasing strategy, acquisitions, and store optimization. The firm has worked with retailers and property owners on store launches, concept development, pop-ups, and large-scale retail expansions across the United States.
Following the acquisition, IndERA founder Crystal Vilkaitis will remain actively involved in the business and continue supporting the retailer and vendor community. The company said the transition is designed to maintain continuity for existing customers while expanding the strategic expertise available to the platform.
IndERA’s core offerings will remain in place, including Facebook and Instagram ads management, its “Get Listed” local search optimization service, a membership-based education and community portal offering on-demand retail training and peer collaboration, and industry events and live learning programs.
Blue Butterfly said the integration will also bring additional capabilities related to store performance optimization, expansion planning, and lease strategy. The company believes combining marketing expertise with operational and real estate insight will provide independent retailers with broader support as they navigate a changing retail environment.
The company noted that the expanded platform is intended to strengthen connections among retailers, manufacturers, property owners, and local communities, while continuing to provide marketing education, operational guidance, and practical insights to help retailers improve profitability and long-term sustainability.
