Blue Ocean Technologies, a capital markets fintech company focused on global trading and data, announced new executive appointments as it expands its technology capabilities and Asia-Pacific presence.

The company named Chinmay Patel as Chief Technology Officer of Blue Ocean ATS, where he will be based in Toronto and lead technology strategy, infrastructure, blockchain initiatives, and engineering. In parallel, Blue Ocean appointed Marcus Chan as Sales Representative for Hong Kong and China, a newly created role focused on regional growth, business development, and client relationships.

Patel brings more than 15 years of experience building and scaling technology teams in financial services, with prior leadership roles including CEO and Co-founder of PERCS, CEO and Co-founder of API Garage and BlockX Labs, and CTO at Dossiya. Chan brings over 20 years of experience in financial technology and capital markets, having led sales efforts at Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Sungard, FlexTrade, and other institutions across Asia-Pacific.

The appointments come as Blue Ocean Technologies continues to scale its after-hours trading platform and expand internationally. Through its Blue Ocean Alternative Trading System, the company enables trading of U.S. equities during overnight hours, operating from 8:00 pm to 4:00 am ET, Sunday through Thursday. The firm is focused on advancing tokenization strategies, enhancing data solutions, and broadening access to global investors outside traditional U.S. market hours.

Founded in 2019, Blue Ocean Technologies is positioning itself to transform U.S. trading into a more global, around-the-clock marketplace through its Blue Ocean Session offering.
