Blue Ocean Technologies announced the appointment of William Goodbody Jr. as Head of Market Operations for Blue Ocean ATS in Australia, expanding the company’s presence across the Asia Pacific region. Based in Melbourne, Goodbody will oversee operational strategy and market expansion initiatives throughout Australia and the broader APAC market as the company continues growing its institutional trading ecosystem.
Founded in 2019, Blue Ocean Technologies operates Blue Ocean ATS, an overnight trading platform for U.S. National Market System stocks. The company’s Blue Ocean Session enables trading during non-traditional U.S. market hours, operating from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. ET from Sunday through Thursday.
Goodbody brings more than 30 years of experience across global equities, foreign exchange, and digital assets markets. During his career, he held senior leadership positions at companies including Bats Global Markets, Knight Capital Group, and Zerocap.
Most recently, Goodbody served as Head of Business Operations at Zerocap, where he led initiatives involving trading technology transformation and preparation for 24/7 operations. Before that, he served as Chief Operating Officer at AE Capital, helping scale trading and business operations for the multi-asset systematic hedge fund while supporting institutional partnerships and mandates.
Blue Ocean Technologies CEO Brian Hyndman said Goodbody’s background in building and scaling global trading businesses made him a strong addition to the company’s leadership team.
