BlueFive Capital Invests In Majoris Asset Management And Enters Indonesia

BlueFive Capital announced a strategic investment in PT Majoris Asset Management, marking the global investment firm’s entry into Indonesia and the broader Southeast Asian market.

As part of the transaction, Majoris Asset Management is expected to be rebranded as BlueFiveMajoris.

Both the investment and the planned rebranding remain subject to approval from Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority, Otoritas Jasa Keuangan.

Majoris is one of Indonesia’s faster-growing asset managers and has developed a significant position in Sharia-compliant investment products.

The firm serves more than 700,000 retail customers and approximately 50 institutional clients.

Its investment offerings are focused primarily on money markets and fixed-income products.

BlueFive is completing the transaction through BlueFive786, its Sharia-compliant investment platform.

The investment represents BlueFive’s first entry into Southeast Asia, a region that is home to approximately one-quarter of the world’s Muslim population.

Indonesia is the world’s most populous Muslim country and represents a significant potential market for Islamic financial products.

BlueFive said Sharia-compliant products currently account for only about 10% of Indonesia’s asset management market.

The firm believes that relatively low penetration creates an opportunity as younger and increasingly financially sophisticated investors seek products combining financial objectives with principles associated with Islamic finance.

The partnership is intended to combine Majoris’ local investment management expertise and distribution network with BlueFive Capital’s international investor relationships and Sharia-compliant investment capabilities.

BlueFive also plans to use the relationship to strengthen investment connections between Indonesia and international capital markets.

The transaction supports BlueFive’s broader strategy of developing investment relationships across what it describes as the South-to-South investment corridor.

Once regulatory approvals are completed, BlueFiveMajoris is expected to focus on expanding access to professionally managed Sharia-compliant investment strategies for Indonesian investors.
