BlueWater Marinas Acquires Bayside Marine In Massachusetts

BlueWater Marinas, backed by Bain Capital Real Estate, announced it has acquired Bayside Marine, a full-service marina in Duxbury, Massachusetts. The deal marks the fifth marina acquired through the joint venture between BlueWater and Bain Capital.

Founded and operated by the Kent family since 1949, Bayside Marine has long served as a fixture of the Duxbury boating community. Located on Duxbury Bay with direct access to Cape Cod Bay, the marina provides a launch point for fishing and cruising throughout the South Shore and greater Cape Cod region.

Bayside operates as a comprehensive marina destination, offering storage, maintenance, and repair services, as well as boat sales. The company is also an authorized dealer of Grady-White Boats, further enhancing its position as a one-stop provider for boating customers.

The acquisition expands Bain Capital Real Estate’s marina footprint in the Northeast and builds on its prior purchase of Glyn’s Marine on Nantucket. The firms are pursuing a strategy of assembling a portfolio of high-quality marina properties along the East Coast, targeting supply-constrained and affluent coastal markets with strong long-term demand drivers.

Bayside will continue to be led by the Kent family, who will remain in place to oversee day-to-day operations. BlueWater said it plans to support the existing team as it continues to serve customers in the New England boating community.

Bain Capital Real Estate invests in sectors supported by long-term secular trends and has invested and committed more than $10.7 billion of equity as of September 30, 2025. Its parent firm, Bain Capital, manages approximately $215 billion in assets globally.

Headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina, BlueWater Marinas was established by former executives and team members from PORT 32 Marinas and Atlantic Marina Holdings. The company focuses on acquiring, developing and operating coastal marina assets, including both dry and wet slip facilities, and aims to build a Class A portfolio of marina properties in prime East Coast markets.
