Boeing has been awarded a U.S. Navy contract with a maximum value of $80 million to support continued development, integration, production readiness, and sustainment of the MQ-25A Stingray unmanned aircraft system.
The cost-plus-fixed-fee, cost-no-fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract will support a range of system improvement activities intended to maintain and enhance MQ-25A capabilities as the Navy continues developing the unmanned aircraft platform.
Under the contract, Boeing will perform system improvements and configuration development while supporting the integration of new and updated aircraft system configurations. The scope also includes production readiness activities designed to prepare MQ-25A systems and configurations for future production requirements.
Sustainment work is another component of the contract, giving the Navy a contracting vehicle for additional efforts needed to support the aircraft as its systems continue to mature.
The contract has a not-to-exceed ceiling of $80 million. Because it is structured as an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity agreement, the Navy can issue individual orders for specific work within the broader scope and ceiling of the contract.
No funding is being obligated at the time of the initial award. Instead, funds will be committed as individual orders are issued under the contract.
Work will be performed in St. Louis, Missouri, where Boeing maintains operations supporting military aircraft programs. The Navy expects work under the contract to continue through October 2031.
The award provides Boeing and the Navy with a mechanism to continue refining MQ-25A configurations as development progresses, including integration activities needed to maintain and improve the aircraft’s capabilities while supporting future production and sustainment requirements.
The contract was not competitively procured. Naval Air Systems Command at Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting activity.
The award was issued under contract N0001927D1006 and represents another multiyear development and sustainment effort supporting the Navy’s MQ-25A Stingray program. By covering system improvements, configuration development, integration, production readiness, and sustainment under a single IDIQ structure, the contract allows additional work to be ordered as program requirements evolve through 2031.
