Booz Allen Hamilton announced that former U.S. Army Chief Information Officer Leonel Garciga has joined the company as a Senior Executive Advisor, strengthening the firm’s defense technology leadership capabilities.
In the role, Garciga will support Booz Allen’s efforts to deliver defense technology products and mission-focused solutions aligned with Department of War priorities, with a particular focus on accelerating operational technology capabilities for military and national security missions.
Garciga most recently served as U.S. Army CIO beginning in June 2023, where he led large-scale technology modernization and digital transformation initiatives across the Army enterprise. During his tenure, he oversaw efforts involving AI policy implementation, large language model integration, and the deployment of agentic AI technologies within operational and enterprise infrastructures.
Prior to serving as Army CIO, Garciga held multiple senior leadership positions across defense and intelligence organizations, including Director of Army Intelligence Community Information Management within the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence (G-2). He also served as chief technology officer and senior technology advisor for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency.
According to Booz Allen, Garciga brings extensive expertise spanning defense technology, digital transformation, secure software development, intelligence systems, data analytics, acquisition, and operational technology modernization.
The company stated that his appointment further strengthens Booz Allen’s positioning within AI-enabled defense technologies, cyber capabilities, mission systems, and advanced government technology modernization initiatives.
Booz Allen currently employs approximately 31,600 people globally and reported approximately $12 billion in revenue for the 12 months ended March 31, 2025.
